History
Barangay Sapa is 22 kilometers away from the heart of the city. The total land area is 1,934.59 hectares. It has 126 total number of household with a total population of 552 compose of 289 male and 263 female.
Jeep and motorcycle are the main mode of transportation used by constituents in going to the city and back to the barangay. It can be reached in a 45 minutes ride.
Coconut trees, rice fields, majestic mountains and waterfall surrounds the place. With this, farming is the most common source of income to the people. They are abundantly blessed with copra and rice products.
In 1962 a temporary school makeshift building was constructed. Mrs. Conchita Macariola was the only teacher assigned in the barangay to teach the few students in the area. During 1980s, the school was closed because the constituents leave the area due to the NPA attacks.
The school reopened in 1987 and became Sapa Elementary School until this present. It continuously operates to give quality education to the learners in the barangay.
In 1989, after the NPA attacks in the barangay, Sapa Primary School has reopened again with 1 teacher teaching Grades 1 to 3. As time went by, there was an increase of school population in the year 2004. It has combined monograde classes with 3 fully structured classrooms.
Sapa Elementary School has consistently demonstrated excellence in academic and extracurricular activities. The pupils have actively participated in district and division contests, showcasing their skills in Literacy, Numeracy, and Science Quizzes. The commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence is further highlighted by the school as being recognized as the Winner in the Regional Search for the Most Outstanding School Implementer of the School Based Feeding Program for SY: 2022-2023.
Sapa Elementary School is proud of its involvement in the community. Students and teachers regularly participated in the community events, such as the Barangay Fiesta and others. The school also takes pride in its efforts to conserve the environment by planting trees. By keeping in touch with its former students, the school cultivates a strong feeling of community and builds a network that supports the institution's expansion and improvement.
Sapa Elementary School still has problems despite its successes, especially when it comes to dealing with the non-readers and non-numerates. In order to ensure that every student receives an excellent education, the school understands how critical it is to overcome these challenges. In order to effectively address these difficulties, the transformational commitment entails the use of innovative instructional approaches, customized learning approaches, and community involvement.
