San Isidro Elementary School: Hand in hand, together we can!
Bearing in mind with the goal to provide quality education and foster a nurturing learning environment, San Isidro Elementary School has stood tall for a period of 30 years and is still continuing to cater to the needs of the young minds. Established in 1993, the school has been a pillar of academic excellence and character development. This school is often seen as essential to the well-being of the community it serves, providing stability and continuity in the face of change. Throughout the years, San Isidro Elementary School have certainly undergone significant changes over the years, adapting to new technologies and pedagogical approaches while still upholding their core mission of educating learners. As we go on with this educational journey, we take pride in the achievements of our alumni and the enduring impact our school has had on generations of learners. An alumni can create tremendous value for the schools from which they graduate. Successful former students can provide a powerful form of testimonial on behalf of a school’s brand, offering positive word-of-mouth attention, social media presence, and the type of visibility that juices recruitment and enrollment rates.
The Philippines has taken significant steps to provide early learning programs and services for its youngest populace, and the country remains committed to providing inclusive and equitable quality education for all children. This initiative was started by the then Barangay Captain, Hon. Teresita Truya, to provide accessible and quality education to all Filipino children, irrespective of their geographic location . The program is called Every Barangay a School (EBA) and aims to establish a school in every barangay in the Philippines . The program is part of the government’s commitment to the Education for All (EFA) initiative . The EFA initiative is a global commitment to provide quality basic education to all children, youth, and adults. The program has been successful in providing education to children in remote areas of the Philippines. Armed with this program, Hon. Truya, went to request Dr. Generoso B. Purog, the Schools Division Superintendent of Leyte Division at that time, for a school in Barangay San Isidro. Due to her persistence, the school was established in 1993. The early years were marked by a focus on localized curriculum development, community participation, and the nurturing of early childhood development. The commitment to universal access to education laid the foundation for a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape, contributing to the socio-economic development of the people in the barangay.
The growth and development of the school have been characterized by a dynamic evolution since their inception. Over the years, there has been a notable expansion in both the number and the scope of educational services it offered. From two rooms, additional classrooms were built to accommodate more students, and the school has expanded its educational services to include more subjects and programs .
It’s inspiring to see how the school has grown and evolved over the years to provide better educational opportunities for students. Education is fundamental to development and growth, and it’s heartening to see that the school has been able to expand its services to meet the needs of its students . Currently, the school has five classrooms and two makeshift ones, which cater to learners from Kindergarten to Grade Six. The school has come a long way since its inception, with the number of teachers increasing from 1 to 7, along with 1 non-teaching personnel and 1 school head .The learners also has increased with time. The government's sustained commitment to improving education infrastructure, teacher training, and curriculum development has played a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education provided by the school. The integration of technology, community involvement, and targeted interventions to address specific educational challenges have further propelled its growth. The continuous efforts to adapt to evolving educational needs and the emphasis on fostering a conducive learning environment have collectively contributed to the positive trajectory of the school, playing a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape in the community.
The establishment and growth of San Isidro Elementary School owes with gratitude to a number of influential individuals whose dedicated efforts paved the way for its inception. At the forefront were Hon. Teresita Truya, Hon. Carmen Cari and Hon. Dominador Chiong , who collaborated seamlessly to navigate the bureaucratic intricacies involved in processing the crucial documents required for the school to operate. Their commitment and efficient coordination laid a solid foundation for the institution. Dr. Generoso B. Purog, who served as the Schools Division Superintendent of Leyte Division, played a pivotal role by endorsing the application for the permit to operate, ensuring the school met the necessary educational standards.
