Patag Elementary School

History

Patag Elementary School located in the northern part of the City of Baybay with a total land area of 3,033 sq. meters. It is eight kilometers from the city proper of Baybay, three kilometers from the Visayas State University(VSU). It is bounded on the south by barangay Gabas, on the west by barangay Guadalupe, and on the north by the VSU.

Established in 1997, our school began its journey as a multigrade institution. During its formative years, it played a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape for the youth in our area. At present, it is a complete elementary grade from kindergarten to Grade six.

The school reached a significant milestone in 2005 when it transitioned into a complete monograde institution. This shift marked a new chapter in its development, aligning with the evolving educational standards. In 2007, two Party list standard buildings were erected, providing modern facilities to enhance the learning experience for our learners.

Our school has been fortunate to the effort of the barangay officials of Brgy. Patag, whose influence has contributed to the growth and spirit of the institution.

The dedication and hard work of our students and faculty have borne fruit in various achievements. In 2018 up to 2023, our school proudly branded as No Non- Readers in the District 7. This is because of the dedicated and committed teachers at Patag Elementary School. Additionally, the school has been recognized as an Outstanding School-Based Management (SBM) Level 3 Implementer for the school Year 2020-2021.

Beyond the classroom, our school actively engages with the community. Participating in fiesta activities, tree planting initiatives and barangay Clean-Up Drive, as we aim to instill a sense of civic responsibility and environmental consciousness in our learners.

Our journey has not been without challenges. However, we have made strides in overcoming obstacles, evidenced by a decrease in dropouts and a concurrent increase in enrollment. Though fluctuation of enrollment for a year occurs. These transformations underscore our resilience and commitment to providing quality education to the local youth.

As our school continues to evolve, we remain dedicated to fostering an environment of learning, growth, and community engagement. Together, we look forward to the future, building on our successes and addressing challenges with unwavering determination. Our school stands as a testament to the power of education in shaping the destinies of individuals and communities alike.
