Barangay Maganhan, established by the legal basis of RA 3590 on October 27, 1940, boasts a rich history and vibrant culture. Its annual fiesta, celebrated on May 27 and 28, pays homage to the Patron Saint, Saint Isidro Labrador. The roots of Maganhan trace back to its former name, Kambadong, evolving during the tenure of the late Mayor Paterno Tan. The name Maganhan is derived from the creek that flows through it, "Agan-an," representing a segment of water originating from the upper reaches of Maganhan creek. The resolution formalizing the establishment of Maganhan was approved on October 27, 1941.
. Bounded by mountains to the east and south, and rivers to the west and north, Maganhan is comprised of five sitios: Avocado, Boungon, Caimito, Mangga, and Nangka. Located 5 kilometers away from the Poblacion, the barangay is easily accessible with available transport services including jeepneys, multicabs, pedicabs, and tricycles.

Barangay Maganhan is 5 kilometers away from the heart of the city with P20.00 as fare in going to barangay. Jeepneys, motorcycles are the means of transportation used by the people in going to the city and back to the barangay. It can be reached in 15 minutes ride.
Coconut trees and ricefields surround the place. It gives hope and happiness to the people living in, it also riches and success when it comes to harvest time.
Farming is the most common source of income to the people and that copra and rice are their products.

Mrs. Conchita Balaga, the first teacher, played a pivotal role in imparting knowledge to the eager minds of the initial batch of students. As the years unfolded, the school underwent significant developments, with the construction of a Marcos-type building and the arrival of Mr. Balaga as an additional educator. In 1986, a symbol of progress emerged with the construction of the Bagong Lipunan Building, a three-room structure that reflected the community's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment. The momentum continued into the new millennium, marked by the construction of a one-classroom building in the year 2000. The personnel landscape of Maganhan Elementary School also evolved over time, with dedicated educators such as Mr. and Mrs. Bonifacio, Julita Nayre, Miss Sonia Dawal, Virginio Ortega, Norma Flandez, Fe Derecho, Angelina Estardo, and many others contributing their expertise. These educators became the guiding lights, shaping the educational journey of the students under their care. As the school's legacy unfolded, Maganhan Elementary School gained autonomy in its administration, boasting its own school head. This leader became instrumental in overseeing, supervising, and managing the school's operations, ensuring its continued growth and impact on the community. In a recent chapter of its history, Maganhan Elementary School experienced another chapter of generosity. Through the collaborative efforts of Barangay Captain Renato P. Magan, Mr. Ruperto Abreu, and his wife Sofia Montefolka, a significant addition was made to the school's assets. Lot no. 4558-F, spanning 2,936 square meters, was voluntarily donated for use as a school site. Amelita S. Ang continued the tradition of strong leadership at Maganhan Elementary School, emphasizing both academic excellence and the creation of a positive learning environment. Her tenure was distinguished by initiatives aimed at enhancing not only the academic but also the extracurricular aspects of students' lives. Racquel Torres Cuasito, succeeding Amelita S. As Maganhan Elementary School enters the present day (August 2022), Nora T. Omega, the current school head, leads with a forwardlooking approach. Maganhan Elementary School has consistently demonstrated excellence in academic and extracurricular activities. The pupils have actively participated in district, cluster and division contests, showcasing their skills in Literacy, Numeracy, and Science Quizzes. Notably, during the National Reading Month Celebration the school achieved 2nd place in the cluster contest in "Poster Making." Additionally, the school head received the prestigious award of Outstanding School Head at the division level in 2022 during the ‘Pasidungog 2022”.
