History

The vision for Kilim Elementary School goes beyond merely providing access to education; it aspires to be a catalyst for the delivery of quality education. The school situated in Barangay Kilim, Baybay City, Leyte. The third barangay from city proper approximately five kilometers north of the city center of Baybay with a total area of 7,229 sq. meter expanse of flat land along the coastal area, its population as
determined by the 2020 Census was 3,532 and represented 3.16% of the total population of Baybay retrieved from PhilAtlas. (n.d.). Kilim, Baybay City, Leyte. The school enjoys accessibility via various transportation modes, complemented by seamless communication technologies. With cellular phones serving as a primary means of communication, Kilim embraces modern connectivity. The Barangay itself is characterized by a population deeply rooted in agriculture and coastal livelihoods. A majority, fifty percent (50%), engage in farming, while forty percent (40%) are involved in fisheries. The remaining ten percent (10%) comprises office workers and those employed abroad. The area boasts private sector owned cottages, beaches, pension houses, rice mills, and solar driers. While electrical supply is sourced from the local government, water supply, for some residences, is directly drawn from the watershed, with the majority relying on the local government.

The success of Kilim Elementary School rests on collaborative efforts and the cooperation of stakeholders, aligning with the principles of School-Based Management (SBM) outlined in RA 9155, The Governance of Basic Education Act 2002. The school, aware of the challenges it faces, is committed to bringing out the best in its students. The ongoing crafting of the Enhanced-School Improvement Plan (E-SIP) serves as a strategic mechanism to bolster SBM operations and overcome potential barriers to success. Looking ahead to the 2022-2023 academic year, Kilim Elementary School
envisions achieving improved performance and radiating success. This journey is not a fleeting one, and the school-Community Planning Team (SPT) anticipates a fruitful endeavor. The adage "Working Together, Achieving Better!" serves as a guiding principle, emphasizing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in delivering quality basic education services to the youth. Through concerted efforts, Kilim Elementary School aims to shine brighter and reap the sweeter fruits of success.

Awarded as SBM Level III among the schools of Baybay City Division, Prompt in submission of required reports in district and division as well online submissions, awarded as consistent and updated display boards in all classrooms, Three stars in WinS program implementation. Consistent with DepEd Order No. 24 series 2022 “The Adoption of the Basic Education Development Plan 2030” states the challenges that were identified in the Basic Education Sector Analysis (BESA) classified issues in access, efficiency, quality, and governance. KES continuously promoting all school aged learners have
access to quality and ensure that no one is left behind, responsive and equitable basic education, safety and security of learners learning environments, preserving the learners rights, know and protect their rights as the clientele of the school.
