Kagumay Elementary School: Nurturing Minds, Building Futures
Since its inception in 1975 and its transformation into an Elementary School in 1983, Kagumay Elementary School has been a steadfast beacon of knowledge and a commitment to educational excellence. Bolstered by the dedication of the inaugural batch of Elementary Teachers, Elementary educators, and the pioneering leadership of Mrs. Maria Nena Arradaza – the former Baybay South District Supervisor, the school has blossomed into a nurturing ground for countless generations. A collective vision of a group of passionate educators, led by various school heads, materialized into what was initially an Elementary School. This vision was not only to impart academic knowledge but also to instill community values, integrity, and a zeal for lifelong learning. Pre-1983, the school opened its welcoming doors to cater to the educational needs of learners from surrounding Barangays. Witnessing a trajectory of remarkable growth, Kagumay Elementary School evolved from its modest origins. The institution expanded its infrastructure and academic horizon, notably marking its territory in higher education. The genesis and prosperity of Kagumay Elementary School can be attributed to the relentless efforts of influential figures. The leadership of Mr. Boy Montalban-the former Barangay Captain of Kagumay was instrumental in surmounting bureaucratic hurdles essential for the school's operational legitimacy. The school's framework and governance were fortified by Mrs. Nina Arradaza – former Bay bay South Supervisor, was pivotal in endorsing the operational permit, ensuring educational standards were met. The support from local dignitaries, including City Mayor Carmen L. Cari and Congressman
Berting Loreto, was invaluable, embedding the school firmly within the community and charting a course for its future. Kagumay Elementary School transcends academic excellence.
