Hipusngo Elementary School

History

Hipusngo Elementary School is located at Brgy. Hipusngo Baybay City, Leyte. It is situated a few meters from the diversion road. It has a health center inside the premises. Its surroundings encompassed by numbers of big houses around it. The back portion outside of the school area is untouched where learners reminisce memories such as climbing different fruit trees. The school has a wide playground area. It can accommodate with lots of learners playing even Saturdays and Sundays. 
This was established in 1954, the school opened as monograde type. It has 16 classrooms and with an area of 10,000 sq. meters where in school has a big playground.  It catered for the education of the nearby Barangay school aged children like Biasong, Cabalasan, Mahayahay, and Banahao. It was a big school having two sections in each grade level.  Marcos type building in the year 2050s was erected During its formative years, it played a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape for the youth in our area and the neighboring barangays. During meetings and District Jambo rallies, they held it at school because of the huge area of playground
In 2018, three state-of-the-art DepEd standard buildings were erected, providing modern facilities to enhance the learning experience for our students.
Our school has been fortunate to be associated with admired persona, including the esteemed Miss Clarita Asilom, whose influence has contributed to the positive growth and spirit of the institution.
Beyond the classroom, the school actively engages with the community. Participating in fiesta activities, tree planting initiatives, coastal clean- up drive. We aim to instill a sense of civic responsibility and environmental consciousness in our learners.
The school faced challenges because of the lot area. Commotion, violence, going to court and police were experienced by the teacher in the year 2015. This problem has been occurring until now. However, we have made strides in overcoming obstacles. The school experienced a decreasing enrollment due to transfer of residence, low birth rate, and economic stability. These transformations underscore our resilience and commitment to providing quality education to the local youth.
Creating a School Improvement Plan (SIP) is an essential part of ensuring a school`s continuous growth and development. It is a strategic tool that allows schools to identify areas of improvement and establish clear, measurable goals. A well-crafted SIP not only enhances the quality of education but also fosters a positive learning environment.
